Marketing transparency means a client can see what work was requested, where it stands, what AI was used to do it and what was invoiced, without having to ask. In the DigitalShyft client portal, a request has a visible status, AI usage is listed by day, and invoices sit in the same account as the work they relate to.
What is marketing transparency?
It is the ability to check the work yourself. Not a promise that the work is good, but access to the facts: what you asked for, what has been done, what tools were used, and what you owe.
A black box is the opposite. You send an email, wait, and learn later what happened, usually in a monthly summary written after the fact. Transparency moves the answer from a conversation to a screen you can open any time.
Why do work requests need a visible status?
Because an email is not a system. A request sent by email can be missed, forgotten or buried, and the only way to find out is to ask again, which is exactly the follow-up nobody wants to write.
A request with a status answers three questions at once: did it arrive, has anyone committed to it, and when is it expected. Clients stop wondering, and the agency stops being asked.
How do work requests work in the DigitalShyft client portal?
The Requests tab has a short form: a one-line title, optional detail, links to Drive or pages on your site, and files such as screenshots, PDFs, Word and Excel documents, CSVs or zips (up to five files, 25MB each). You also set how urgent it is, and anything marked Immediate is looked at the same day.
Your request then appears in a list with its urgency, status and due date. 'With DigitalShyft' means we have received it and not yet scheduled it. 'Accepted' means it has joined our working task list, and everyone on your team is emailed with the date we are aiming for. 'Not planned' means we have decided not to take it on, and you can see that too.
Why should you be able to see AI usage?
AI now does a real share of marketing work: drafting, analysis, images, answers. If a partner uses it on your account, you are entitled to know how much and for what. Without that, you cannot judge whether the work is being done carefully or simply being generated.
Visibility also keeps the partner honest. When the record of AI work is open to the client, it has to match what was actually done.
How do AI usage and invoices connect in the portal?
The AI Usage tab, where it is turned on for an account, shows tokens processed, AI input and output tokens and a Value of AI work figure. Click any of them for a daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly breakdown. The figures are rolled up every few days, so recent days can lag and numbers are approximate, and Value of AI work is a measure of the work, not an invoice total.
Where AI usage is invoiced, the same tab lists the charges so far this billing period that have not been invoiced yet, grouped the way the invoice will list them, with an item count for each kind of work.
The Payments tab lists your invoices with issue date, invoice number, what each is for and whether it is paid, with a link to pay online. The invoice and the usage behind it are in the same account, so you can check one against the other.
